Yes! You will get to learn directly from Lizzie through exclusive Live Sessions and Workshops every week that will not be available via any other formats nor to any other markets.

We provide a safe and friendly environment. All the work that you do in person with other members of the Hilarapy Community WILL NOT be recorded or seen by anyone; it is completely confidential.

Live Therapeutic Sessions and Comedy Workshopping Sessions are 1.5 hours each on alternating Thursdays mornings and early evenings. The Live Weekly Open Mic & Games nights are 1.5 hours each as well. You can learn the skills of Stand-Up Comedy Writing and Performance at your own pace. Live Therapeutic Sessions will help you develop skills such as active listening, practice vulnerable sharing, and increase self-acceptance and self worth. Beyond those, you can spend as little or as much time as you'd like; it's up to you! You can spend hours each month conversing, sharing ideas and inspiration in the Hilarapy Comedy Writing Support Group on Facebook while mastering your skills, and exploring tools and techniques. Visiting Teachers will present a range of additional sessions and you can go as deeply with those as you wish. Alternatively, you can just drop-in whenever you're in the mood for inspiration, connection, and encouragement.

NO! Absolutely not! The Hilarapy model is not about turning trauma into comedy. We believe that exploring our pain with experiential therapeutic techniques in a supportive environment with people who understand us, helps us to find connection and healing. We are learning to show up and share who we are with the world using humour as the vehicle. We can also share the difficulties and truths of who we are with each other in this community before we even attempt to create some comedy. Once we have found compassion, love, and support for ourselves in our most tender parts, we can start to share the humourous ways we see the world. With Hilarapy therapeutic comedy, we believe in the most holistic approach: mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health.
